What’s God Got To Do With It?
Yom Kippur Afternoon, Monday, September 28 at 1:00 p.m.
Who do we think we are praying to today? Do we
think anyOne is listening? Ira Wise will lead a
lively conversation on Jewish God concepts, how
we do (or don’t) relate to the divine and what you
think about God. Fasting is easier when you do it
with others. Stay at temple between morning and afternoon services.

Senator Christopher Dodd comes to B’nai Israel
Letters from Nuremberg
Event Cancelled: Senator Dodd had to stay in Washington for the Health Care Debate. We hope to reschedule!
Sunday, December 6
Dinner at 5:30 p.m.
Dessert and Presentation at 6:30 p.m.
Senator Christopher Dodd will speak and sign copies of his new book Letters from Nuremberg: My Father’s Narrative of a Quest for Justice. Nuremberg researcher Joseph Persico, wrote “the trial sprang to life when I encountered the role of prosecutor Thomas Dodd. Fortunately, in hundreds of letters home, Dodd recorded an unvarnished insider view of the tribunal. Today the outcome of Nuremberg may seem foregone. But Dodd’s vivid account reveals how feuds among allies, prosecutors and judges nearly sank the world’s first trial in which the rule of law triumphed over a reign of barbarism.” The senator will be signing copies of the book, which will be available for purchase.
Dinner, dessert and the program – $10.00
No charge for BIFTY and temple youth for dinner or dessert.
R.S.V.P. by December 2 to Lynn or (203) 336-1858.
Sponsored by Adult Jewish Learning and
