Rosh Chodesh was a minor biblical holiday acknowledging the new moon, which marks the beginning of each month in the Hebrew calendar, is now revived and reinvented as a time for Jewish women to come together and celebrate. At B’nai Israel, our Rosh Chodesh group has evolved in both scope and content over the years, addressing the spiritual needs and concerns of the participants. All are welcome and new faces are seen at every meeting. While a theme for the evening (which may be holiday, Torah, or contemporary issue related) is presented by our current facilitator, Rabbi Suri Krieger, contributions by group members tend to be personally relevant. In our intimate safe-space, we provide spiritual and concrete opportunities to share, question, contemplate and rejoice with each other. Our food is delectable and our music is harmonious. Our attendees range in age from young adult to senior citizen and our attendance consistently ranges from ten to twenty participants.
Please join us for a taste or a take away of Rosh Chodesh. The Winter-Spring dates are listed below and we meet from 7:30 p.m. until around 9:30 p.m.
